The Automotive Technology program of Weymouth High School is a NATEF certified program in the state of Massachusetts. This means students are on track for ASE certification in this field. This nationally recognized credential is an absolute open door for world wide employment in the automotive industry. Experienced graduates are sought after technicians who are encouraged to continue both certification and training in a post secondary institution with a major manufacturer as a specialty such as BMW, Ford, Chrysler or GM. The training on the secondary level is intensive. Strong mathematical and computer skills are a necessity. Initial training is done in simulation through the use of mock-ups and training stations. Weymouth H.S. students from the Automotive Technology program participate in the Skills USA program and compete against other automotive students from across the state winning gold, silver or bronze metals.
