Girl's Hockey starts out 1-0-1

The Lady Wildcats tied W-H 2-2, before defeating Scituate 2-0, to start the 2011 season.  The team will travel to Natick to open the BSC season on Wednesday.

Weymouth Football 20 Walpole 14 on Thanksgiving

Weymouth finished the season with a big victory over the Herget Champion, and playoff bound, Walpole Rebels at Walpole.  The team finished the season at 9 and 2 and their fifth BSC title in six seasons.  Scoring for Weymouth were seniors S. Whouley, K. Bailey-Smith and junior O. Colarusso.  Senior C. McLevedge threw all three scoring strikes - bringing his season touchdown pass total to 41 while rushing for an additional 8. 

 

Weymouth will host two MIAA football playoff games on Tuesday night:

Duxbury vs. King Philip at 5:15

Needham vs. New Bedford 7:30

Girl's Cross Country wins Eastern Mass State Title

Congratulations to the Girl's Cross Country team on winning their second consecutive Eastern Mass. Division I title over the weekend, beating Lowell by 15 points. The girls will return to Franklin Park this Saturday looking to defend their All State Champion title as well.

 

Weymouth Football 50 Framingham 0

The Wildcats continue to roll - improving to 8 and 2 with a huge victory in a battle of teams tied for first place in the BSC.  QB C. McLevedge threw four TD passes and ran for another to lead the offense, while seniors linebackers J. Hachey and A. Casey were dominant defensively for Weymouth.  The team will travel to Walpole for the Thanksgiving Day matchup between the Herget and Carey Division leaders.

 

 

Weymouth Football 48 Brookline 6

The football team improved to 6 and 2 with a win at Northeastern over the Brookline Warriors.  The offense was once again led by quarterback C. McLevedge who broke the career touchdown pass record by throwing four touchdowns, bringing his season total to 34, he also ran for a TD and a two point conversion.  Senior K. Bailey-Smith also broke the career touchdown reception record when he hauled in his 22nd career TD pass.  Rounding out the scoring for Weymouth were senior S. Whouley scoring twice, sophomores D. Harrison and D. Fernandez added one each, and junior O. Colarusso rushed for a touchdown and kicked four PAT's.

 

The team will host Framingham Friday night at 7:00.  Both teams are tied with Needham for first place in the BSC.
